Pro Bono
In addition to our work for private clients, we apply our legal talents to represent individuals and groups in pro bono matters. Our founding partners have done pro bono work throughout their careers in private practice, and that tradition is carried on throughout the firm. We routinely exceed the ABA's recommended aspirational goal of 50 hours of pro bono work per lawyer per year.
The work cuts across many substantive subject areas but always involves our advocacy skills – whether that means trying cases, arguing appeals, or appearing before administrative agencies.
The Seventh Circuit Bar Association awarded us the prestigious John Paul Stevens Pro Bono and Public Service Award for our work representing indigents in criminal and civil appeals before the Seventh Circuit. In doing so, it noted the remarkable number of matters we handle before the court, particularly when compared to the number handled by much larger firms practicing in the Circuit.
